Aidence BV
Project | Lung cancer screening pathway powered by Artificial Intelligence |
---|---|
Description |
Aidence provides Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions for analyses of medical images and data. Lung CAD (L-CAD) is the company’s first CE-certified software providing highly accurate detection and reporting of pulmonary nodules on CT-chest. Initially, L-CAD supports radiologists as a second reader, enabling shorter reading times and improving diagnostic accuracy. However, we propose to develop L-CAD as first reader, reducing the radiology burden by autonomously reporting follow up studies or even acting as a filter to remove unsuspicious studies from the workflow. L-CAD is an enabler of a safe and efficient lung screening program. |

Cambridge Oncometrix Limited
Project | Prostate Liquid Biopsy Test for Risk Stratificatio for Prostate Cancer |
---|---|
Description |
Cambridge Oncometrix is developing a non-invasive Prostate Liquid Biopsy test for risk stratification of men suspected of prostate cancer. The test measures the chemical element profile of semen, which changes significantly when a tumour is present in the prostate. Prostate Liquid Biopsy is non-invasive and simple to administer, and will improve treatment outcomes by diagnosing prostate cancer earlier. The test will aid identification of men who will benefit from prostate biopsy and those who could safely forgo it, which will reduce the number of invasive biopsy procedures and post-biopsy complications, improve patients’ experience and aid efficient use of NHS resources. |

Chromition Limited
Project | Digital High Throughput Screening Platform for Rapid Cancer Diagnosis |
---|---|
Description |
Chromition's technology is a digital pathology platform that enables rapid diagnosis of cancer. This project will validate the technology in a clinical setting with the end point of accelerating diagnosis and transforming the way histopathology is conducted within the NHS. Our high-throughput method enables the recognition of meaningful diagnostic patterns of multiple biomarkers in tissue sections. Specifically, tissue biopsies are stained with fluorescent biomarker conjugates, viewed with commercial multispectral microscopy imaging equipment and analysed using pattern recognition software to identify patterns. The method will give greater diagnostic insight than current methods, in less time and with lower costs. |
