TRANSDERMAL DIAGNOSTICS LTD
Project | Non-invasive, and needle-free, continuous glucose monitor for children and young people living with diabetes |
---|---|
Description |
CGM devices have undoubtedly improved diabetes treatment but have significant problems, particularly for children, as they can cause skin damage and reactions, altering the correct results. The innovation uses hair follicles to extract fluid from under the skin without damage. This fluid closely reflects blood glucose levels, so patients and parents can use it to plan treatment on a minute-by-minute basis. The device is a wearable with a disposable skin patch. It is a user-friendly and discreet solution. A mobile app communicates results from the patch on the skin to the user's smartphone to provide immediate readings for action. |
