Help quantify the environmental and financial benefits of medical devices or products
The SDU is seeking to award three contracts for studies to undertake work to identify and quantify the environmental, financial and potential social benefits of medical devices or products.
The Unit intend to award three contracts of £3,000 each. This project is in support of SDU’s current work on medical devices, as opposed to services or pharmaceuticals.
Clinicians, health sector organisations, academics, sustainability consultants, innovators, developers, suppliers and manufacturers may bid, however, the work must be completed by an appropriately qualified and commercially independent 3rd party. The SDU expect this to involve a reasonably detailed independent evaluation of the sustainability benefits of the medical device or product throughout its life cycle.
Each awarded organisation will be required to summarise the outcomes of the project as a case study that may be used by the SDU to raise the profile of innovative healthcare products and devices that provide a sustainability benefit.
Applications should be submitted by 5.30pm BST, Friday 21 October 2016.
