1. TechUK Innovation Challenge initiative “Health and fitness monitoring and reporting for Defence”
The techUK Innovation Challenge is a joint MOD-techUK quarterly cycle of activity that allows industry to directly engage with information problem owners within MOD. In short, the Challenge allows industry to show how their solutions and products may directly benefit MOD users by proposing prototype and demonstration engagements to showcase their capability.
The first Challenge of 2016 is ‘Health and Fitness Monitoring and Reporting for Defence’, an eye-catching and exciting topic that draws in a range of interesting information perspectives.

2. Project CORTISONE
Also of potential interest to you would be project CORTISONE, which is an MOD Joint Forces Command Medical Information Systems team project in support of the MOD’s Medical Operational Capability.
techUK has been running a series of Industry Engagement days with the MOD on CORTISONE, helping the technology industry understand the MOD’s defence healthcare information systems requirements, which include a networked Defence integrated Electronic Health Record. CORTISONE is a multi-million pound programme and represents a significant opportunity for the healthcare technology industry. The dates and details for the next industry engagement sessions are as follows:

Event Details
This industry engagement will span over two days, giving industry the opportunity to receive information about the recent and planned programme activity and also to pitch to the programme team and clinicians. Please see below for full details.
Day 1 – 27 January
This day will include a full brief on the programme, including activity throughout 2015, the shape of the future procurement plan, and timelines. There will also be the opportunity for Q&A and networking time with industry colleagues and MOD representatives.
In the afternoon there will be private appointments available for industry to meet with the programme team and clinicians and to pitch their technology solutions and systems directly. A rota will be organised by techUK and companies will be allocated slots ahead of the date.
Day 2 – 28 January
This day will be entirely comprised of private appointments for industry.
Pitch Appointments
To help with your preparation for these private appointments the CORTISONE Programme Team may make additional technical documents available in advance of the briefing through the techUK website.
Pitch appointments will be for a maximum of 30 minutes each and slots are available on the following dates and times.
27 January: 13.00 – 17.00
28 January: 09.00 – 17.00
There will be a limit of 2 people per company in the pitch appointments.
