Isansys Lifecare Ltd is proud to announce it has been named as finalist in the Best Implementation of Digital Healthcare category at OBN’s Annual Awards.
The company, based in Oxfordshire, has been shortlisted for the award because of the development of its Patient Status Engine (PSE), the country’s first wireless, digital, remote monitoring healthcare platform, which is helping clinicians address specific health challenges globally.
With the use of the PSE, which uses wireless, wearable ‘smart patches’ to collect patient’s vital signs, doctors and nurses can easily access up-to-date patient information, enabling faster treatment decisions, resulting in improved outcomes for the patient.
Keith Errey, CEO of Isansys, said: “Currently patients in hospital have their vital signs monitored manually once every four to eight hours. This infrequent monitoring means that deterioration in a patient’s condition may go unnoticed, potentially leading to longer stays in hospital, more expensive treatments or even admittance to intensive care.
“The PSE was designed to eliminate these problems. By automatically and continuously collecting and analysing patient data, the system can provide alerts and early warnings to clinical staff to allow them to make earlier and simpler interventions and thus prevent many avoidable and costly adverse events, regardless of whether the patients are in hospital or at home.”
Sugrah Sultan, a research nurse at the Birmingham Children’s and Women’s Hospital, which is using the PSE to monitor children continuously, said:
“The PSE is a big advancement, not just in medical treatment but in the way medical care is delivered. This is going to revolutionise the way patients globally are monitored forever.”
The winners of the awards will be announced on Thursday 5th October at the Oxford Town Hall.
