NHS patients are playing their way back to health thanks to the power of MIRA Rehab technology.
MIRA is a software application developed by the SBRI-supported company, which is being harnessed within the NHS to help patients take control of their own health. It translates existing physiotherapy exercises into video games which patients can play, making therapy more convenient and easier to follow. MIRA is already being used to assist patients with injury rehabilitation.
The system is designed as a tool for therapists, using motion tracking sensors to engage patients in their therapy, while assessing and reporting patient compliance.
In the video, which has been produced to show how the NHS is embracing digital technology in its 70th year, people from across the generations talk about the benefits of playing the exergames and how the experience has improved their physical and mental abilities.
