We are proud to announce the publication of the SBRI Healthcare annual review. The COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated some of the unique challenges in healthcare, but also the power of accelerated innovation in meeting these challenges.
Over the past year, we have facilitated the investment of £5.2 million in companies developing the products and services to deliver better patient outcomes for the NHS.
During a time of unprecedented challenges for the NHS and Social Care, it has never been more critical to enable innovators with comprehensive funding and support. We know that this mission is achieved not only through 100% funded contracts, but also by uniting innovators with a wider network of experts and investors.

We featured 14 business entrepreneurs that have been backed up by SBRI Healthcare to show how the programme unleashes innovations for enhanced patient benefit and enables efficiency improvement in the NHS, transforming people’s lives through patient-centred healthcare innovations. SBRI Healthcare is also key in boosting the innovation pipeline and attracting private investment, supporting companies’ growth and wealth creation in the UK and overseas.
